Cup point Set Screws are headless screws which are threaded the entire length. They have an internal hexagonal drive at one end and a cup-shaped indentation at the other end. The cup point is the most popular style set screw. The Cup Point has a special cup section supplied on the end of the threaded member having a depression in the end to reduce the area in contact with the surface which increases its holding and locking power under pressure. The set screw passes through a threaded hole in the outer object and is tightened against the inner object to prevent it from moving relative to the outer object. It exerts compressional or clamping force through the bottom tip that projects through the hole. These set screws are Headless Screws which are commonly called Blind Screws or Grub Screws. These headless screws comes with a Hex Socket in which a Hex Allen Wrench is inserted for tightening and loosening of the screw.
